Experience Matters

Despite being only 18, Billy is already a recording artist with the ABC having been recorded on the record Warta Kiki as part of the Kutcha Edwards x Melbourne Youth Orchestra project. Billy has also played with many great big bands around Victoria including the Jazzlab Orchestra, Seb Big Band and the Ballarat Arts Foundation Big Band. This culmination of experiences allowed Billy to then go on to create the Billy Hinde Big Band which had their first performance in January of 2026.

The band will be back on October 1st of 2026 for some more action at the Paris Cat in Melbourne.

Billy is a highly versatile saxophonist and woodwind extraordinaire with the ability to get around nearly all woodwinds in all genres of music.

Composer

Billy is an up and coming composer who is willing to write for all ensemble types but will not write to genres, only to what comes to him at the time.

Gig Organiser

Need a band? Need charts? Need a set list? No Problem! Billy Hinde is willing to do the grunt work to get a gig together no matter what the occasion be.

Teacher

Billy teaches all ages and levels of saxophone, clarinet, flute, music theory and composition. He will teach beginner oboe and piano if you are in desperate need of a teacher in that domain.
